Bobby Bones former stepdad Arkansas Keith met his daughter Billie for the first time and she had her first big trip!
Bobby, his wife Caitlin, and Billie traveled to Fayetteville to watch the Arkansas women’s softball team ahead of the Women’s College World Series. Arkansas Keith drove two hours to meet them so they could all attend the games together. One of the first things Keith noticed about Billie was her hair, joking that everyone immediately comments on it when they meet her. Bobby also addressed another topic listeners noticed after he posted a celebratory photo from the field following Arkansas’ series win over Duke. In the picture, Bobby was holding a sign that read “College World Series, Oklahoma City,” while a baby bottle was sticking out of his pocket. Many people immediately spotted the bottle and pointed it out in the comments. Bobby joked that the bottle likely had spit-up on it, adding that life looks very different now with a baby.
Billie handled the games well overall until fireworks started after the win. Caitlin quickly ran toward the practice facility when the fireworks started going off to keep Billie asleep, which was a challenge. The biggest challenge of the weekend came later at the house when a smoke detector battery began chirping overnight. They could not figure out which smoke detector was making the noise because there were several throughout the house. Bobby was standing under each alarm, waiting for the chirp before finally locating the correct detector near the end of his search. Even after removing the battery, the alarm continued chirping on the table. Bobby eventually placed it in the garage and covered it with a trash can because it would not stop making noise.
The trip also marked Billie's first flight. Her ears appeared to bother her during takeoff and landing, but she did not cry. Instead, he noticed her shrugging her shoulders upward toward her ears, which is what alerted them to her ears potentially hurting from the pressure changes. The whole experience helped them learn more about the whole process of traveling with a baby. Bobby thinks Billie handled her first big travel weekend very well, although she has been pretty sleepy ever since they returned home.
