Keith Urban introduced a surprise guest to the stage â and teased his upcoming competition show â to cover an iconic 90s anthem by Jo Dee Messina during a recent concert in Denver, Colorado.
Urban is the headlining artist on The Road, a soon-to-premiere CBS series executive produced by Blake Shelton and Yellowstoneâs Taylor Sheridan. A dozen contestants serve as Urbanâs opening acts as they ânavigate the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring musician,â CBS previously stated. âRedneck Womanâ hitmaker Gretchen Wilson joined the show as the âtour manager,â and other to-be-announced country artists will make appearances throughout the competition.
Urban said the show is âunlike anything youâve ever seen,â as he told his audience about The Road at a recent stop on his headlining tour. The âHigh and Alive World Tourâ includes Chase Matthew, Alana Springsteen and Karley Scott Collins. Find the list of tour stops here. Urban introduced Nashville, Tennessee-based singer and The Road contestant Adam Sanders to the stage. Together, the pair covered âHeads Carolina, Tails California.â Messina wrote in a comment on Instagram, âI'll gladly be a part of your show Keith đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Łlove ya, bro ! đâ Sanders said it was âan unforgettable night!! Thank you KU đ€đ»đ€đ»đ€đ»â
