Luke Bryan was struck in the face by an object thrown from the crowd during a recent performance.

One of the concertgoers shared a video of that moment on TikTok over the weekend. Bryan was performing his 2011 anthem, “Country Girl {Shake It For Me),” when a ball appeared to fly from the audience and hit the singer during the show. The TikTok user wrote in her caption: “Poor [Luke Bryan] got hit in the face during his encore 😅 carried on like a champ though.”

Some of the commenters said “disrespectful young kids,” “omg people need to stop throwing things,” “there is no excuse for this,” and more. The incident happened at the North Dakota State Fair. Bryan has not publicly spoken about it as of publication time on Tuesday (July 29).

Ward County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jason Kraft told Bismarck, North Dakota-based KFYR-TV on Sunday (July 27) that local law enforcement had not identified the concertgoer who threw the object at the country star. Kraft also said there has not been a complaint filed from Bryan, so the sheriff’s office does not have an open criminal investigation.

Bryan, who recently said he’s still “not 100%” after a COVID diagnosis, played the festival in the midst of his headlining “Country Song Came On Tour,” which includes George Birge, Avery Anna, Ashland Craft, Mae Estes, Cole Goodwin, Braxton Keith, Randall King, Vincent Mason, Drake Milligan, Adrien Nunez and Owen Riegling. DJ Rock will join all shows, per a press release issued when Bryan announced the tour earlier this year.
