HARDY returned to God’s Country for his second appearance on the podcast. Throughout his conversation with songwriters and hosting duo Dan and Reid Isbell, the “TRUCK BED” hitmaker spoke about the “poignant message” of his newly-released record, delivered his first-ever live acoustic performance of one of the tracks on the album, “how his life has changed since becoming a dad,” and more.

HARDY and his wife, Caleigh Hardy, welcomed Baby No. 1 on March 7. Daughter Rosie Ryan Hardy arrived weighing 9 pounds 2 ounces, the first-time parents said as they shared the first photos of their baby on Instagram. Caleigh recently reflected on the couple’s love story on another podcast, and said she knew he was “the one” almost instantly. The couple got married in October 2022. HARDY was one of several country artists to welcome a baby into the family in 2025, along with Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, Sam Hunt, Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery and more. “This week Reid and Dan host award winning artist and songwriter, HARDY, back for round two on GCP. The episode covers everything from arrowhead hunting to how his life has changed since becoming a dad to the poignant message his album COUNTRY! COUNTRY! is giving fans. Hardy covers how the song ‘Buck on the Wall’ came to fruition and how it took on a whole new meaning last year when his grandfather passed away and he killed his first Mississippi whitetail after his passing. HARDY gives an acoustic performance of ‘Bottomland’ for the first time ever and his gravorite is also a first time song on God's Country.”

Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke CombsMiranda LambertScotty McCreeryJon PardiLainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDYDustin LynchColbie Caillat and others.

“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”

The iHeartPodcasts/MeatEater show is available anywhere you listen to podcasts, including in the iHeartRadio app. Select country stations will broadcast the show between 7-11:30 p.m. local time on Sunday evenings. Find God's Country here.
