Jason Aldean and Dasha joined the star-studded lineup of the 2024 CMT Music Awards, CMT announced on Wednesday morning (April 3), while also revealing the lengthy list of presenters for the highly-anticipated show.
Dasha, on a fast rise as a singer-songwriter, will make her CMT Music Awards debut with a song titled after the city where the show will take place, “Austin.” Aldean will mark his 9th CMT Music Awards performance with a rendition of “Let Your Boys Be Country” from his latest full-length studio album, Highway Desperado, per the announcement on Wednesday. The two artists join an all-star list of artists taking the stage during the show, including: Bailey Zimmerman, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town with Sugarland, Megan Moroney, NEEDTOBREATHE with Jordan Davis, Old Dominion with Megan Moroney, Parker McCollum with Brittney Spencer, Sam Hunt, and Trisha Yearwood, who will also receive the first-ever June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award.
CMT also revealed the list of presenters for the 2024 awards show: Amber Riley, Billy Bob Thornton (Landman), Carly Pearce, Cody Alan, Cody Johnson, Emily Osment (Young Sheldon), Emma Roberts, Gayle King (CBS Mornings), James Van Der Beek, Jane Seymour, Jelly Roll, Max Theriot (Fire Country), Megan Moroney, Melissa Etheridge, Mickey Guyton, Minnie Driver, Montana Jordan (Young Sheldon), Parmalee and Paul Walter Hauser, the press release reads.
Voting remains open for the most coveted award of the night, Video of the Year. CMT revealed the Top 6 finalists, narrowed down from a list that originally included 16 nominees, earlier this week. Ashley McBryde, Cody Johnson, HARDY, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini — who is also returning to solo host the show — and Lainey Wilson are still up for the award. The Top 3 nominees will be announced the morning of the show, and voting in this category will remain open through the live show at vote.cmt.com, leading to the final winner at the end of the night. The 2024 CMT Music Awards will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas, taking place on Sunday, April 7, and airing live (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT). Viewers can watch on CBS and stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
